Ng Nam Sin is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in the industry. His
last role in the public sector was CEO of the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) where he
was on secondment from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). He has a proven track
record in leading high-performing teams, managing complex projects, stakeholder
engagement, policy formulation, and driving strategic initiatives. At IBF, he has overseen the
development of the national Skills Framework for Financial Services, launched the Jobs
Transformation Map, and implemented major industry initiatives to upskill and reskill finance
professionals and increase industry training participation.
Prior to his current role, Ng Nam Sin held various key positions at MAS, including Assistant
Managing Director for financial sector Development and then Human Resource and
Information Technology. As a member of the MAS Executive Committee, he managed critical
national infrastructure such as the inter-bank payment facility (MEPS+), chaired the
Singapore Clearing House Association Committee, and initiated organization-wide skills
upgrading in digital technology and data analytics. He played a significant role in financial
sector reforms and liberalization, including the opening up the banking sector to foreign
participation, developing the Singapore dollar bond market, asset management and private
banking industry.
Ng Nam Sin's career began at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), where
he was part of the pioneer team developing the services sector. He later served as Regional
Director in New York, attracting significant investments from the United States. His early
career also includes engineering roles at Indeco Engineers in Beijing. He holds a Bachelor of
Engineering degree from the University of Glasgow and attended the Stanford University
Executive Program. His contributions have been recognized with the National Day Public
Administration Medal (Silver) in 2008.
Ng Nam Sin continues to be active in the industry. His current roles include board
directorship and advisory appointments to organisations in the private and public sectors.
