Fatima Abukar serves as the Financial Conduct Authority’s Data, Algorithms, and AI Ethics Lead, overseeing the responsible and safe use of data and technology within the UK financial sector. With a background spanning nine years at the Bank of England, where she led the International Banks Operational Risk and Resilience hub, Fatima brings extensive experience in assessing the adoption of operational resilience policies by globally significant banks. Her multidisciplinary expertise, including a Master’s in AI Ethics and Society from the University of Cambridge, equips her to address the complex intersection of technology, ethics, and regulation in the financial industry.
